Kevin HsuThe social mission of education inspires me. Each and every day, I wake up excited to craft new experiences for students. Beginning in the autumn of 2012, I produced "Democratic Development," an open online course featuring Larry Diamond. It was one of the first social science MOOCs offered by Stanford University, and the course was noted for the quality of content and the special attention paid to engaging students and building community.
I later designed Norway's first MOOC for a global audience for the University of Oslo and am currently working on an online education project that prepares Maori students in New Zealand to travel to Silicon Valley to explore entrepreneurship and innovation. Aside from my work in online education, I teach classes on environment and sustainability issues, public space design, and smart cities at Stanford. Teaching keeps me connected to the real-world classroom. As instructors, we are always learning from the interactions we have with our students! |
